VENICE, PART II

So, part 2 (of 3!), Venice holiday snaps! (part 1 is here)

Below, you'll find pictures of sugary doughnuts, shellfish lunches in the sun, ivy covered walls, cool churches, cream filled cannoli decorated with jellied candies, pretty pink lace lingerie displays, & me in a bar, in sunglasses, at 11am. Hey, it was Harry's Bar, how could we not follow in the footsteps of Hemmingway?!

To Sleep, Perchance to Dream

I hadn't checked Audrey's blog in a while, & was fascinated to discover that she's bought a bakery, moved to Connecticut, & is pretty much living out her dream! I never used to think age matters (& I still don't, i guess), & maybe it's nothing to do with turning 30 in a few weeks, but just indicative of the bigger dreams & bigger opportunities that we're no longer afraid to reach for.

Venice Photojournal (One)

Venice is of course one of the most photogenic places, right at the top of the list of prettiest, historic Italian cities, with its winding streets, raised walkways to avoid the floods, & mouthwatering flavours of gelato. I have a ton of pics to go through, but here is the first bunch: the colourful houses of Burano Island, the boats, the gondolas, the washing drying in the squares of the Ghetto*, & the rain in Saint Mark's Square, San Marco...

*the word ghetto first derived from the Venetian Ghetto, as persecued Jews escaped to the city from various enclaves within Europe.
