EUDON CHOI AW15

IMG_36w40

Eudon Choi 2015 was full of brocade, decadent silks, bohemian tassled shawls & structured sleeveless coats. A touch of the military & sporty aesthetic filtered through the collection, from a sharply pleated blouse paired with a khaki skirt, to an athletic wide neon stripe detailing a pair of billowing black silk pants. Hair was tied back in messy topknots or plaited for the folkier looks, whilst eyes were finished with a swipe of liner just above the lid. My favourite piece was the deep golden sleeveless coat lined in the most beautiful royal blue: effortless chic at its finest.

CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL COMPANY - TOWNHOUSE-WARMING PARTY

IMG_3415 IMG_341d9 a

jacket - zara
sweater & skirt - new look
trainers - primark
sunglasses - topshop

Sophie & I popped by the Cambridge Satchel Company townhouse for the launch of their new store in Covent Garden this week. Spread over 3 floors (!), the store has been organised into collections, from their Vivienne Westwood collab, to Mens (incidentally the latter has some amazing matt leather, portrait shape rucksacks). Following indulging in one too many cake pops and biscuits and a bit of an intense sugar overload, we felt it necessary to visit Five Guys on the way home. It's all about balance, right?

KRYSTOF STROZYNA SIGNATURE 2013

Goodley PR showcased Krystof Strozyna's new signature line this evening, & after seeing all the super sharp geometric shapes & sunny colours on display, I couldn't wait to post some of the photos from the event!

I loved the little pleats everywhere, particularly cut just below the hip, so flattering & yet definitively unique, a nice change-over from the almost ubiquitous peplum around these days..

Don't ask me why, but these wrist adornments remind me of pony's ankles & horseshoes! A clearly unintended equestrian link, but I'd totally wear them! It's like an update to the wristband of the 80s or the choker of the 90s...

In line with my current obssession, I'm continuing to wear printed cigarette pants - these from Zara - & it seems like I'm not the only one, as there was a whole roster of fashionistas out tonight donning printed silks, trousers, pants, & skirts! #loveit

Calvin Klein Brings Sexy Back / Teatum Jones Equals Perforated Colour / Superdry Becomes High Fashion

leather calvin klein

As mentioned earlier on in the week, I've been soaking up the AW13 collections through the various press days that have been popping up. On Wednesday, I was invited to the Modus showrooms, one of the bigger PR brands, & got to see some of the clothes from the catwalk, up close. I think possibly my favourite line at the moment is the Calvin Klein AW13 one. I've never been a dedicated fan of Calvin Klein, preferring his simplified, raw Kate Moss years, but the latest collection, full of leather & raw hems, slits & sharp lines, totally sold it to me. Sexy, but in a tough, modern, don't-mess-with-me kind of way.

The other high-end line competing for my affections this season belongs to Pringle of Scotland. To me, the collection kind of splits in two. There's one half which has been worked on through collaborations with Central Saint Martins design students, & the Princess of Monaco, to create a collection inspired by the iconic Grace Kelly. The other half is a representation of white through the creative use of textures to create shadows & perforations & folds. Some of the knitwear has been developed to look like it has been taken straight from the animal, such is the creative use of weaving and knitting. Plus, how cool are the skirt/dungarees that I'm holding up?!

The colours & perforations from Teatum Jones were simply stunning:

...& Toast, a brand beloved by both country-folk and Hollywood alike (Kirsten Dunst adores them):

Skulls always make for good motifs:

... & finally, I also popped by the launch of the new Superdry line, a collection with more of a high-end feel than we're used to, designed by Timothy Everest. It's sort of Japanese branding meets utility meets 1950s housewife meets Jack Wills:
