We had fun dressing up in our polka-dots, victory rolls & red lips on Saturday, for an excursion back to the 1940s! Sandbags lined the walls at The Village Underground in Shoreditch, drinks were Spitfires or Champagne coupettes, & the live Jazz band got us all jamming to a little boogie or two!
Blitz Parties are held every month or so - tickets are 20 pounds (look out for the not inexpensive drinks too, they don't serve wine, so most girls end up on the 8 pound cocktails!). But everyone dresses up, everyone dances, & you're pretty much sure to have a blast: a little refuge from the outside world, just as it would have been 70 years ago...
