LULU LIU SS14

I almost didn't make it: finished work for the morning at 1pm, & then zoomed across town just in time to catch some Fashion Scout shows. First up was Ong-Oaj (I'll come to that lovely collection later), but I couldn't wait any longer to post these photos I snapped at the Lulu Liu show this afternoon. I haven't come across Lulu Liu before, but I'm so glad I attended her SS14 collection. The colours - tangerine, rose & baby blue - flowed onto patterned silks, set off with metallic bags - some fringed - & chunky, strappy heels. Amidst the silks, thatched cotton in black & white, or simply completely white, decorated the torso in the form of a dress or a well-fitted jacket. The models were styled to fit into the scenery just perfectly, leaves tucked into loosely twisted & tied hair, glossy pink lips & rosy cheeks. Towards the end of the collection, the pieces took on a sleeker palette of navy blues & whites with a black ribbon trim, perfect for resort. The scalloped trim shoes with neon block heels - oh, to die for!

LONDON FASHION WEEK: DAY ONE

So, I figured the best way to tackle this would be to do a daily report with a round-up of the shows, the street-style, & the added extras.. & then the weeks following London Fashion Week, I'll put together some more detailed content on each of the shows!

So, first stop yesterday was a hair styling by Hershesons (more on that tomorrow!), followed by a run (ahhh, running in heels, classic fashion week!) to my first show of the day: Fyodor Golan. Gorgeous neons, billowing structures, & funky heels, as snapped above^

Next, Somerset House, where I caught the J JS Lee show: lots of pinks, blues, contrasting textures (loved the pvc) & graphic checks. After, I managed to take a few street style shots. Most often heard on the street this season: "that damn rain!" It's really put a bit of a dampener (apologies for the punnage) on things, street style especially, as no-one wants to hang about getting their photo taken if it's in the rain!

After a quick bite to eat & a recon sesh with Sophie, I headed to my first Fashion Scout show of the season: Ones to Watch. I particularly loved this baby pink sweater with messy graphic lines on the cuff by Hannah Williams. Next, was another Fashion Scout show, Yeashin, very folky, pastel colours, pleats & bows.

Got a few outfit shots of what I was wearing: a faux leather jacket from Zara, my faithful iPad case from Reiss (I used it to keep my show tickets dry), skirt by Zara ,shoes from Aldo, & rings by h&m.

My penultimate show of the day was Jean-Pierre Braganza. I interviewed this guy 4 years ago when I was working for London College of Fashion, & he was the sweetest, craziest, enthusiastic guy (I had to follow him with my voice recorder as he danced around on the cutting tables whilst he talked), so I was particularly excited to see this show. Lovely silhouettes & a muted palette with a pop of red on several of the looks. Rounded off the day with the launch in London of the Chinese designer Ping He, who worked under Alexander McQueen. You could really see the McQueen influences: sharp shapes cutting a feminine figure, lasercut leather detail, & slashes of snakeskin. Gorgeous stuff.

See you tomorrow!

Fashion Scout

There were some fantastic monochromatic collections shown at Fashion Scout this AW13 season, as evidenced above, a much later #latergram. Will try & get around to editing the rest of the pics this weekend!

Have a good one!
