PAESAN / DRINK SHOP & DO

glass of fashion

All the big birthdays have been coming up - we've been celebrating a lot of 30s recently! A few weeks ago I joined friends for supper at Paesan in Exmouth Market, a lovely Italian joint that serves one of my favourite things in the world: burrata!

Burrata & aubergine caponata - creamy, milky cheese on a bed of sweet, roasted aubergine & rocket (arugula),topped with herbs & toasted breadcrumbs:

the birthday girl & me:

Arancini - courgette & lemon,
followed by king prawns Special of the Day
Pizza Fritta: buffala mozzarella, pomodoro& basilica
Grilled polenta, buttery & garlicky
Sea bream 'acqua pazza' tomato & parsley
flourless chocolate cake served with strawberries & mascarpone:

We then headed to Drink Shop & Do for a few after-dinner cocktails & a great end to the night!

(PS after a year of being a redhead, I've gone back to brown - but with ombre tips! Will post some photos soon!)

Taste London

This week has been one of utter gluttony, topped off with an afternoon spent at the Taste London food festival in Regents Park: sooo much quality food & produce, Jamie Oliver doing a cooking demo involving a guinness cheesecake, spotting Gary Rhodes at the back of his stall, & getting a signed book by one the master chefs Michel Roux jr (it's a family business for the Roux clan: Gavroche was the first restaurant in Britain to gain 3 Michelin stars, & of course they developed the classic Roux sauce..)

I also picked up some lovely olive oil from this place, perfect for cooking with, but delicate & strong enough for dipping breads in..

One day, I swear I'll wake up fat.

The sun came out! As did the white jeans (Zara)..

Some photos of the Horniman Museum in South East London, one of the few museums that will continue to remain completely free to the public due to its dedication from its founder John Horniman..

and the Real Food Market, on the Southbank. I always pick up some olive & chilli paste, I add it to everything - tomato sauces, pasta dishes, or just spread on toast with some baba ghanoush - pictured above..
