BIG SKIRTS AND CROPPED KNITS

Wore this skirt for the first time yesterday; it was only when I got home that I realised the tag was still attached! *d'oh!*

The full shape & structure of the skirt reminded me of the big skirts at Dior this season, & I really wanted to clash the pretty pastel colours with a 1970s orange knit. I've pretty much found my (literal) comfort zone in flats & pumps recently, these grey pumps from Primark fitting the bill on so many days. I'm also tempted to take my first foray into the Allstar market, maybe a pair of red or neutral cream ones to wear with dresses into the Autumn...

We tried out the Providores & Tapa Room for brunch beforehand: Turkish eggs with yoghurt & chilli served with soda bread, & eggs on chorizo were recommended, as was the bloody mary...

BURGER & LOBSTER / SPRING EDITS

Today I tackled my very first Lobster!! At Burger & Lobster in Mayfair, you can choose either burger, or, you know what's coming, lobster - & together with chips & salad, you get charged the flat rate of £20 a head. Perfect! Ours was served with a garlicky butter & crispy french fries with a parmesan dressed salad on the side. I loved the theatre of it & can totally see why people order the dish. (I still always think back to this scene in Annie Hall).

Afterwards, I popped to Zara & picked up these sunnies & a scarf for travels to Morocco shortly… Summer's-a-coming!

STATEMENT IN PERSPEX & NEON

Brunch on a Saturday is my new favourite thing, you can spend hours drinking coffee, sipping bloody Marys, & choosing various egg-based dishes, followed by the prettiest rainbow cake, & still have a whole day & a half in which to be productive!

I'm wearing a new scarf I picked up in the Topshop sale, together with a pale blue jersey sweater, also from Topshop, & my old reliables, skinny jeans by the Gap. I'm currently into donning the plainest of sweaters in order to showcase statement jewellery - this gold/perspex costume jewellery piece, plus similarly Art-Deco style pastel pink & glass geometric earrings, were also picked up from Topshop, along with the skater-style sliders, very Celine-esque, no? The reflective 80s LA sunnies are from Zara.

We ate at Eco in Clapham for the first course of our brunch, & then went next door to Esca for cake :)

With the onset of Spring (um, someday? maybe!), everything colourful has been inspiring me lately! From the Paul Smith exhibition at the Design Museum, to the festivity surrounding Chinese New Year, rainbow salads at Waterstones 5th floor bar, my new floral pants from Zara, & these exclusive Liberty x Gola high-tops :)

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS

I found these photos whilst rummaging through my dropbox uploads, the sunshine of Cartagena (top 3 pics), followed by a recent pic of Barcelona over New Years. The tinted translucent pipes belonged to the opera house on Cartagena's port, a rather magnificent looking building that enclosed a mirrored walk-through passage..

FEELING FRENCH

I'm not really a hat & baggy sweater person, but there are some days when nothing else will suffice (usually when the previous night was a little longer & vodka-infused than expected ;) This hat has the cutest little cat ears as well, which makes it even more fun! I figured I'm doing the whole anti-blogger thing by NOT wearing a Kenzo sweater with a great big tiger face on it. Instead, I'm wearing a copy. Like all the best fashionistas ;)

MODA DE LA MODE: ISSUE 3 LAUNCH PARTY

Sophie & I went along to the launch of Issue 3, Moda de la Mode, yesterday evening. Such an awesome design and concept: an online magazine, beautifully styled, with a huge amount of content.

Of course, being the dutiful fashion bloggers that we are, as soon as we saw a tree atop a platform of a little stone garden, our first thought was, oo, let's climb up there & dance & pose around & snap some pics!

We're used to the odd random stare from passers-by/office workers by now. It was preferable to the slightly dodgy characters loitering around the prettier park nearby..

Lunch in Chelsea #imready

I headed to Chelsea over the long weekend for a rather lovely lunch at Made in Chelsea hangout-fave The Bluebird. Amongst good friends & family, we celebrated my 30th over some fabulous food! 

Some of the dishes we had:

braised lentils, with turnips, spinach & basil pesto

grilled sourdough, echire butter & anchovies

6 hour braised Hardwick lamb, with colcannon and confit onions

pea & leek tart, with pea, mint & herb salad.

Did I mention the desserts?!

passion fruit posset with pineapple compote
