VIELMA LONDON SS16 COLLECTION

IMG_5116

Vielma London went to 1970s Vegas for their SS16 collection, with over-the-knee suede boots, orange ombre perspex heels, midnight blue satin, & rorschach blotted suede minidresses. The girls wore red lipstick, dangled cigarettes nonchantly between their fingers, & swayed along to the sounds of the gramaphone. American nostalgia with a hint of mystery, I loved it!

LIFE LATELY - OYSTERS, PROSECCO... & ALPACAS

IMG_4881

Three months since my last post? Whoops! Lots has been going on, an imminent (fingers crossed!) house move (can't wait to redecorate & get my all own furniture!), a trip to New York City, & just a general appreciation of this year's Summer. So far, the weather has (almost) held it's own pretty awesomely. Luckily, the sun shined for Lambeth Country Fair last week, where I saw a few goats (above), a couple of meerkats, oh & of course the odd alpaca. Yesterday was another fair, this time in Clapham & strictly for foodies only. Oysters were shucked, prosecco poured, herb gardens visited, & I ended up seriously impressed (unexpectedly) with what the Co-op is currently offering. At their stall they were offering slices of pizza with prosecco for just £4, & I feel the days of a dreary Co-op in comparison to more mighty giants like Waitrose are on their way out: a big marketing push, & a cute alternative for weekly foodshops - heck, they're the main store on Lordship Lane!

I'll be blogging more consistently with fashion week practically around the corner, but you can keep up with me on instagram for daily doses of kitten cuteness, or pinterest, where I'm developing a Scandi-Brooklyn-Bloomsbury interior style...

FAUSTINE STEINMETZ SS15

IMG_2728

Faustine Steinmetz SS15 was all about denim, redeveloped shredded white shirts, brilliant white platform sneakers, bed hair & natural makeup. The sporty aesthetic mixed in with a 90s vibe, blues, teals & the odd touch of dark blue denim. Initially the presentation seemed a little intimidating to shoot, but I kind of like how the dramatic shadows & shadowed cheekbones turned out! Stark, but entrancing.

ALL WHITE NOW

2 1 3

skirt - asos
blouse - h&m
trainers - gola x liberty
sunglasses - dior
tote - lfw ong-oaj pairam
watch - michael kors
ring - accessorize

I love the concept of an all-white outfit, especially out of the summer season, it gives a clean, high-end look (although of course it's pretty hard to maintain - cut to friday afternoon during fashion week where i'm in the loos at Somerset House with some Vanish, scrubbing to remove some red lipstick!) I fell in love with this skirt when I first saw it on Juley over at her blog, & so with a hop, click & a jump, had it delivered just in time for fashion week this season. I'm hoping to transition it into the cooler months with some funky ankle boots, either keeping the white theme going, or maybe with some cut-out black chunky heels.. watch this space.

ORLA KIELY / BRITISH SUMMERTIME

There's this hidden corner of Clapham that Sophie & I head to when the sun's out & we feel like dancing around in new outfits & getting a bit snap-happy, & of course there's nothing more suitable for this than an Orla Kiely dress & matching shoes! I originally wore this dress to London Fashion Week last season, so when it came up in a 50% flash-sale I couldn't resist! Huge thanks to Clarks too, who are producing the Orla Kiely footwear range & rather wonderfully sent me this gorgeous Marianne pair...

Afterwards, Sophie & I headed to the new No.32 in Clapham (used to be the Frog), & whilst they had a few teething problems (smoke alarm for starters!), the food was certainly worth waiting for!

ETHNIC CHIC : CAPSULE UNITED COLOURS OF BENETTON COLLECTION

Having only just got back from a Moroccan adventure myself, it seemed like the perfect breakfast meeting ever, an invitation to take a sneak peek at United Colours of Benetton's Ethnic Chic capsule collection for Spring/Summer 14, whisking me back to hot summer days, bustling souks, & colourful scarves.

A pretty fabulous platter was laid out by Momo Restaurant: cinnamon buns, donuts, Moroccan pastries, breads & jam sandwiches, topped off with sweet mint tea & fresh fruit juices every which way we turned!

I loved the t-shirts with jewelled decoration, they'd work great in making an everyday outfit a bit prettier, or matched with a stripy skirt or loose flowing trousers for summer. One of my favourite pieces was the sequinned scarf pictured below - so delicate but still subtle, I would wear it to a summer wedding, or just with jeans & t-shirt alike!

Keep an eye out for the collection to hit the shops!
