GOLDEN LEAVES AND IKAT

Catching the last sunbeams of summer over dusk yesterday, the light was just beautiful, & I'm so pleased with how these photos turned out! Initially I planned this outfit around the ikat-print jacket, going for a kind of easy, casual look that one of the Supers might wear running errands around town (Elle or Claudia, for example). But then I found this necklace in the most unexpected of places yesterday - a chemist! So cheap, & it looks like maybe J Crew crossed with Anthropologie - plus I feel that the leaf is a great motif for the coming season. Bring on the golden dusks, the falling leaves, the cooler nights, & the madness that is London Fashion Week!

Style It Up: Winter Accessories!

It can be pretty tricky trying to retain a bit of style & pretty in the Winter season; last night, Sophie & I were getting excited about the release of the provisional show schedule for London Fashion Week a/w 2013, & having never been in the Spring, she advised me that it's all about the little touches: the bags, the heels, the accessories... The good thing about the little things is that they don't have to cost a paycheck: I found the hair-tie from River Island (after being inspired by this one) for only 3.00GBP! Here are a few of my current favourites, photographed on a new scarf (I love the neon stripe in it!) from h&m..

Is it Christmas Season Yet? {Keeping Warm in High-Tops}

I'm SO into high-tops at the moment! Seriously, if you'd asked me a year ago, I would have said they should only be seen on the likes of Avril Lavigne or tween punk wannabes. Then Isabel Marant happened. I picked up a navy blue pair from River Island, swapping the original white shoelace for black, to make it a little more subtle (as subtle as high-heeled trainers can be, anyway..)

My Saturday consisted of some haddock fish-cakes & a bloody mary at the Young Vic theatre bar, walking over Waterloo bridge, & seeing the Christmas tree being erected in the courtyard at Somerset House. I have a feeling that Tiffany's will sponsor the ice-rink again this year: that lovely blue colour is all over the banners :)

(Did I mention, I can't wait until Christmas?! #BigKid)

Pack All Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag..!

t minus 4 days until i head to the lovely city of san francisco!


i picked up these sneakers from river island yesterday, i think they'll be the perfect footwear for traipsing around the city all day, more delicate than walking shoes, I can pair them with a pretty green dress for a preppy look, or skinny jeans, grey tee & statement necklace for colder days..


also totally in love with my new orla kiely notepad - the perfect place to note down flight/hotel deets & any other info when travelling! the little pink book (only 1.50pounds!), from waterstones bookshop, can go in my everyday bag, it's so tiny, but don't all the best things come in small packages?!


holiday reading: julian barnes' the sense of an ending, my first read for a new book group i've just joined..
