BRYAN MOREL PR AUTUMN/WINTER 2014

You probably know how much I'm addicted to sunglasses by now.. but Oliver Peoples? Probably (one of) my favourite brand(s) ever! Such cool frames & lenses! This, & other fare, was on offer at Bryan Morel's Autumn/Winter 2014 press day today, including some beautiful John Rocha gowns, some funky Mango pieces, & menswear by Hammond & Co.

Twirl For A Curl

earrings by Accessorize, jumper by Mango

My shorter hair style is still growing on me (SORRY, it had to be done!), so I decided to emulate the people who originally inspired my shorter length, Gwyneth & Olivia look fab with their hair curled, so sweet & stylish. Usually, my hair is deadeningly, numbingly boring, iron-straight, so the curls give it a little bounce. I'm still practising the technique, but so far have it down as follows:

1. Don't use freshly washed hair. Spritz with water so it's a little damp.
2. Take large sections of hair at the front & curl with a tong, leaving in place for a few minutes.
3. Once each section is curled, pin them up on the crown of your head, blast with a cold hairdryer, & leave whilst you're getting the rest of yourself ready.
4. Just before leaving the house, unpin, loosely separate the curls with your fingers, & spray a lotta hairspray to keep the style in place.

Always A Skinny Jean Girl

necklace by Mikey
A little retail therapy post-exam? Why, okay then! This necklace was at 70% discount, & reminded me of a mix between something Chiara might wear (the skulls!) or Taylor might have chosen (J.Crew statement necklaces!) Before buying the jeans below, I toyed with the idea of trying on a white flare. Picked up the flares on the hanger, looked at them, looked back at me in the mirror, & decided no. No, not for me. Kendi can pull off a fantastic flared jean, as can the girls from Glee (did anyone else notice the whole 70s vibe going on towards the end of series 2?), but for us shorter girls (I'm 5 foot 2, as is the darling Christina Ricci), I think a flared leg can swallow us whole! So, always the skinny jean girl, I opted for a crisp white pair (my first whites! Ohh dear, I think this spells trouble.. Kristin recently warned me of this, although she manages to wear the white jean short to perfection) & a vibrant blue tone, with a belt I'm sure the Glitter Guide would be proud to show off.

To finish, a couple of other quick photos - one dedicated to Amy, wherever you are. & some burgers, because we all need a bit of food porn in our lives.
